Operation Smuggle Surly a success

A four-pack of Surly Furious making an exceptionally rare appearance in New York City, my living room to be exact.
This past weekend I had the good fortune of attending the wedding of our dear friends Jackie and Ike in Houston, Texas. Ike is from Minnesota, and, knowing that, I asked if he might have any way of brokering the transportation of some beer from Surly Brewing Co., a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota-based craft brewery whose beers are only available in and around the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Much to my delight and awe, his best man came through in spades, picking the beer up, wrapping it up in TSA-approved packaging and sacrificing part of his suitcase space for beer for a person he’d never previously met. Now that’s dedication to the cause, and I owe him big time.
After flying the beer home to New York with me, I finally cracked a can open and was blown away by the beautiful flora aroma, taste and aggressively hopped nature of Surly’s flagship beer. This may well be the hoppiest 6.2% beer I’ve ever tasted.

Dear Larry,
