2nd half-marathon status: complete

Posted in Exercising, Health, Running by Larry Koestler on October 15, 2012

For the second time in six months I completed a 13.1-mile half-marathon, this time on my home turf in the Central Park loop.

As usual, there are myriad issues with Runkeeper’s stats — starting with the fact that I obviously did not run 14 miles, nor did I burn the race at anywhere close to a 7:22 pace.

What I did do was manage to beat my Brooklyn Half time — 1:44:40 and a 7:59 min/mile — by over half a minute, coming in at 1:43:04 and a 7:52 min/mile pace. I came in 1,014 out of 5,946 finishers, and was 821 among men. I also came in 174th place among 31-year-olds.

And now my legs are absolutely killing me.
